There are 19 Athletics & Road Running Clubs affiliated to the OxonAA.
These clubs cater for all ages and standards. The main disciplines are:

  • Track and Field
  • Road Running
  • Cross Country

The OxonAA organises County Championships and selects county teams for national, regional,
inter-county championships and events.

Can I remind clubs (and competitors) that those entered for the County Championships must wear a RED number. These will be available for clubs or school teams on the day, and I would ask that team managers come and collect the package (NOT individual competing athletes); athletes running for clubs not in Oxon or as individuals may collect their number from the registration tent (where any entry fees still owing can be settled!).

SEAA IC XC on Saturday (13 Dec)
Dear colleagues - a few notes for athletes competing on Saturday at Horspath. Firstly I am attaching the timetable again for convenience. Can I suggest athletes try and arrive AT LEAST 60 minutes pre-race as you will need to get your number and be declared as a runner.
Other important points are -

After some consideration, the medals for each of the junior races will be awarded to the first three athletes after the end of the race. Hence it is important that these athletes do not go too far from the finish area.
I hope, for the U20 and senior men and womens events, it will be possible for the first three places will be awarded in the same way.

Oxford Mail Cross Country SOS

With massive thanks to all those who have contributed so far, unfortunately I do not have enough people to run the event successfully yet. The majority of offers have been for help on the previous days, or of the type ‘someone can help for the junior races but wants to run’ or  ‘there is a willing parent who will have to leave at 10.30 or so’. It’s also worth mentioning that the most help has been offered from clubs who already host a race for the league.

Oxford Mail Cross Country - Round 2: December 7th

Round 2 will be hosted at Oxford Brookes University Harcourt Hill campus: https://www.brookes.ac.uk/studying-at-brookes/student-life/our-campuses/harcourt-hill-campus/. Course maps will be available online before race day.

Parking will be very tight. Everybody; athletes, spectators, officials and marshals; needs to consider how to get there. There will still be a £3 charge per vehicle, with all proceeds going to Helen and Douglas House, at the request of Oxford Brookes.

Oxfordshire Marathon Championships (run as part of the Abingdon Marathon) 2014

Sophie Carter showed her injury problems were fully behind her with a dominant victory at the Milton Park Abingdon Marathon.
The 35-year-old, from Woodstock, regained the ladies’ title she won in 2011, finishing more than eight minutes ahead of her nearest rival.
But there was frustration for Abingdon AC’s Paul Fernandez, who saw his big lead overhauled in the men’s race, which was won by Chris Jordan (Leicester Coritanian).
