World Marathon Challenge & Quad Kids

The Network have organised 2 events that will be taking place in October and are in desperate need for volunteers to help on the days!  Please could you promote these events to your members and get anyone who is interested in volunteering to contact Margaret Stevens ASAP!  Details of the 2 events and what volunteers are required are below.

World Marathon Challenge - 5th October at Horspath. Start time 11am Two Secondary Schools involved each with a team of 31 Yr 8 students. Margaret will have confirmation by the end of this week but almost certainly going to be Lord Williams's and Cherwell.They will compete against each other but also via a website with schools in 14 other English Cities as well as schools around the world including Tibet, Canada and Iceland.
We will need the following volunteer officials to help run the event - a Referee, two Track Judges, 2 Time Keepers and 2 Lap Board Operators. We also need someone to act as Communications Officer to connect the event up to the website and pass on updates to the teams and officials.

Quad Kids Event -  Friday 7th October, 6-8.30pm.
We are aiming for 200 participants from Yr 5/6 and are going to charge £2.50 per child.
We need the Clubs to promote to their athletes and to encourage their members to bring along a friend to have a go.  We will need to collect the entry fees on the day or via the Clubs.
We need each Club to commit to sending 4 volunteers to help run the event - they can be older athletes, mum/dads etc. They do not need to be coaches just enthusiastic and able to write down distances or press buttons on stopwatches! As it is a Network event we will need everyone involved if it is to run successfully - the more volunteers we have the quicker the event will be and less waiting time between events for the participants - if we can get 30 volunteers it could run very efficiently!
