White Horse Half Marathon - Request For Assistance and Training Session Notice
Following our annual recruitment drive for assistance (within our own membership) at our White Horse Half Marathon, a county road race championship event, we have found that owing to holidays and various other commitments a number of our regular helpers will be unable to assist us at this year's event.
Consequently we are contacting other local clubs in an effort to recruit marshals for this year's White Horse Half Marathon scheduled to take place on Sunday, 11th April.
Last year we ran a successful and well-attended marshal training session. We are planning to run a free marshals' training session again this year scheduled to be held on Saturday, 27 February. The session will last approximately two hours and will consist of a short indoor discussion followed by a visit to one or two marshaling points on our Half Marathon course to illustrate the points discussed. The content of the training package is applicable to typical situations on any course, so would potentially be useful to races organised by your own club.
Anyone offering their help will be welcome to attend the scheduled marshals' training session on the 27th. For anyone wishing to attend the marshal training session, please could they contact us to give an indication of numbers attending on Saturday, 27th February.
If anyone can help please contact either: Gareth Smith by email or by telephone on 01235 767538 or myself - contacts details in the signature below.
Regards
Dene
