Job Description
Oxfordshire has a tradition of sporting excellence from the first sub-four minute mile run by Sir Roger Bannister to our most recent Olympians. Funded by England Athletics we are seeking to recruit a Network Officer who will be responsible for assisting the Oxfordshire Athletics Association in continuing the delivery and development of the successful Athletics programme
Under the supervision of the OAA management group responsibilities will include
Delivering and keeping up to date the Network’s overall Action Plan and budget. To focus on the priority areas as set by the Network’s Management Group.
To liaise and develop productive relationships with Local Authorities, Education, Athletic Clubs and other partner organisations to secure their involvement and resources.
To initiate the development of longer term funding arrangements for the Oxfordshire Athletics Network to survive beyond the initial 3 year funding period.
To focus on developing and delivering arrangements to improve coaching across the County. To take the initial scheme as outlined in the Network’s bid for funding and translate this into a workable set of actions.
To establish, motivate and work with a central core of County event coaches who will play an important role in delivering improved coaching across the County.
To create arrangements with the core group of coaches to deliver: coach skills audits: personal development plans: 1:1 coach evaluations: club coach induction programmes: matching up network coaches with both experienced mentors and each other: sharing coaching with and between clubs: to use ‘flying coaches’ to the best effect for the County.
To provide reports of progress and activities to the Network Management Group and to attend meetings of the Executive Committee as appropriate.
To investigate, complete or arrange for the completion of external funding applications for the Athletics Network that will assist the implementation of the Network’s Action Plan.
To carry out other relevant duties as may from time to time be set by the Network Management Group.
Commit to regular meetings with line managers and the Network Management Group.
Commit to undertake training related to Continual Profession Development as deemed appropriate by line managers and the network management group.
