Sunday's championships have been psstponed due to adverse weather conditions a new date for the championships will appear here soon.

A decision will be made Friday afternoon as to whether the Oxfordshire Cross Country Championships will go ahead at Middleton Cheney, near Banbury, on Sunday.

Oxford’s Hannah England is Oxfordshire’s Sportswoman of the Year, sponsored by Fusion- Lifestyle. She was joined by Witney Road Runner Eleanor Hubbert who won Disabled Sportsperson of the Year.

They took top honours on Friday 13th November 2009 at the Oxfordshire Sports Awards which is organised by the Oxfordshire Sports Partnership, and sponsored by Fusion - Lifestyle on Friday 13th November 2009 at The Kassam Stadium in Oxford. The winners of the Oxfordshire Sports Awards 2009 were announced at a glitzy gala awards evening at the Kassam Stadium and the trophies were presented by Jo Thoenes and Brennan Nicholls from BBC Oxford.

Directions: Take A422 to Brackley at M40 roundabout Banbury, at next roundabout take second exit to Middleton Cheney, at entrance to village turn right at Dolphin Inn X-roads. Venue is 800 metres on left.

There will be a charge for parking of £2 to cover the costs of hiring toilets and the first aiders.

Ron Pickering was many things teacher, coach and broadcaster but above all he stood for the ethics of sport, the aspirations of the young and for the belief that sport could enhance their lives in more ways than the physical. In creating "The Ron Pickering Memorial Fund" it is hoped that a permanent expression of Ron’s ideals can be established.

The England Athletics Hall of Fame awards event held recently raised £1000 for the charity. England Athletics CEO Mike Summers presented the cheque to Ron's widow Jean at the end of the evening. Jean also accepted the England Athletics award on behalf of Ron, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

As many of you know we currently have a Coach Development Meeting scheduled for Monday 26th October 2009 venue TBC - 6.30pm – 9.30pm
The plan was to combine this meeting with a workshop / coach development opportunity, with the first hour focusing on the coach development meeting and the following two hours would be the workshop.

Unfortunately due to the lack of workshop speaker availability and unforeseen circumstances I will need to postpone this meeting to a later date. New date to be circulated as soon as possible.
As we approach a very busy time for coach development opportunities I feel that it will be in the best interest of coaches to delay this meeting until a quieter time (if this does exist). In the mean time please find below a few short updates.
